Jungheinrich UK has embarked on its largest single recruitment initiative for young apprentices with the creation of 17 positions in the company’s Customer Service organisation.
Steve Shakespeare, Jungheinrich’s Director of Customer Service says: “Similar to many UK industrial sectors, Intralogistics is suffering from a major shortage of talent. As one of the industry’s leading companies, we recognise the important role that we play in attracting and developing new talent, and so we have launched our largest apprenticeship recruitment initiative yet with 17 new positions.”
Illustrating the success of Jungheinrich UK’s apprenticeship programme, Gavin Hersom, one of the company’s young engineering apprentices, recently won the Fork Lift Truck Association’s Apprentice of the Year Award 2016 at a prestigious Awards event held at the International Centre in Shropshire on 27th February.
“We are committed to helping young individuals embark on a rich and rewarding career in Intralogistics, whether that is through our Engineering Apprenticeship Programme or through our unique Sales Academy Scheme,” says Shakespeare. “Having been an apprentice myself, I am well aware of the opportunities that can arise for young people with the right attitude and drive.”
He continues: “Jungheinrich UK is focused on developing talent for the future and we will be demonstrating this at IMHX 2016. We aim to show potential apprentices, not only the available programmes within our business, but also, the valuable opportunities that exist for individuals going forward. We will have on-hand a number of our team members who have developed beyond their original remit and who continue to progress through our business.
