Let technology tame your Black Friday beast

Logistics, Supply Chain · October 27, 2015

Seasonal or event-related retail ‘spikes’ such as Black Friday are becoming ever more extreme, and can seriously affect even supply chains that are not directly involved. To help companies deal with fearsome spikes in demand that may also occur throughout the year, Access Group has published a new white paper, titled: ‘Let technology tame your Black Friday beast’.

The paper explains how smart selection, implementation and execution of appropriate supply chain and related systems will remove much of the risk and fear associated with these spikes and help ‘smooth’ the peaks to ensure a continuity of service to customers.

“This means implementing supply chain systems imbued with the kind of characteristics highlighted in the white paper,” explained Ian Roper, Divisional Director for Supply Chain Solutions at Access Group.

He added: “Deploying seamlessly integrated planning and scheduling, supply chain management, and warehouse management, linked to financials and business intelligence will give you an edge. This will help you sail steadily through the turbulence generated by spikes in demand, whenever they may come.”
