I recall attending my first press conference not long after joining Materials Handling News as assistant editor in the late spring of 1994. It was to report on the launch of a new mobile crane and was held at Pinewood Studios – a great venue for a film buff like me. Many, many press conferences on materials handling solutions, logistics and supply chain management followed over the years – in the UK and around the world – as I stepped up to being an editor on Industrial Handling and Storage and Distribution magazines. And lifting is significantly represented in the content we have been providing throughout the 15 years that I’ve been operating AMA PR with my colleagues Lloyd Arkill and Nick Allen. So I’m #GLAD2021 to report that lifting has certainly been a considerable part of my work, and I’d encourage everybody to join the chorus ringing out today expressing its importance in keeping all sectors across the globe flowing smoothly.
