AMA is a logistics PR consultancy that understands supply chain management and logistics. Lloyd Arkill, Ross Matthews and Nick Allen have, between them, over 50 years’ journalistic experience as editors in the supply chain and logistics sectors – networking, gathering knowledge and developing an intricate understanding of the industry.
Our consultancy has deep roots within the warehouse, logistics and supply chain community, having developed a broad network of connections and personal relationships with logistics service providers, supply chain and logistics practitioners, trade bodies, professional associations, specialist publishing groups, leading academics, analysts, awards schemes, and a multitude of companies and organisations supplying equipment, products and services to the sector. Having organised many roundtable events over the years we have made contact with a large number of logistics and supply chain practitioners.
Unlike any other PR consultancy, we are immersed in the logistics and supply chain industry – and we can also apply our successful methods to many other business sectors.
Lloyd Arkill was editor of Storage Handling Distribution (SHD) magazine between 1992 and 2006 during which time he became a widely known, respected and active participant in the materials handling and logistics industry. In 2003 he was presented with the Forklift Truck Association’s coveted ‘Archie’ Award for services to the forklift truck industry. Alongside his duties on SHD, he was also managing editor of Solids & Bulk Handling. In the spring of 2006 he founded Arkill Matthews with Ross Matthews.
Ross Matthews joined Materials Handling News in 1994, initially editing the magazine’s burgeoning IT section before becoming its deputy editor. In 1997 he became editor of Industrial Handling & Storage, which was the supporting magazine for the International Handling Storage Exhibitions, for which he helped organise conference and award events. In 2000 Ross became managing editor of both IHS and its sister title Distribution 2003. At the beginning of 2004 he became a freelance writer for the supply chain sector and editor of Solids & Bulk Handling until 2006, when he founded Arkill Matthews Ltd with Lloyd Arkill.
Nick Allen, a leading journalist on supply chain management issues, was for 16 years editor of Supply Chain Standard (formerly Logistics Europe) – official journal of the European Logistics Association. He launched Logistics Europe in January 1993, as trade barriers came down across Europe, and over the intervening period has developed an in depth understanding of international logistics and strategic supply chain management issues. In 1997 he launched the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards and has been a judge on the Awards for the last 17 years. He writes many features for Supply Chain Standard and Logistics Manager and has contributed articles for, and edited, supplements on logistics and supply chain appearing in The Times, The Telegraph and The Guardian newspapers. He also chairs many round tables and conference sessions on supply chain management. Before launching logistics Europe he was editor of Storage Handling Distribution where he developed an extensive knowledge of the materials handling and warehousing sector over a 12 year period.
